Microsoft's Cloud offering is a game changing technology if you have the right partner to deliver it.
Azure Backup is the Azure-based service you can use to back up (or protect) and restore your data in the Microsoft cloud. Azure Backup replaces your existing on-premises or off-site backup solution with a reliable, secure, and cost-competitive cloud-based solution.
How does it Work?
Azure Backup offers multiple components that you download and deploy on the appropriate computer, server, or in the cloud. What you want to protect decides the component, also known as agent. All Azure Backup components (no matter whether you're protecting data on-premises or in the cloud) can be used to back up data to a Recovery Services vault in Azure.
What Applications or Data can be Backed up?
Whether you are looking at Backing up Files and Folders in your Windows Machine or a Windows Server, or SQL Server, Azure Backup is the one Solution you need to Adopt
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is a comprehensive and robust identity and access management cloud solution that enables you to manage users and groups. It helps secure access to on-premises and cloud applications, including Microsoft web services like Office 365 and many non-Microsoft software as a service (SaaS) applications.
An Azure VM gives you the flexibility of virtualization without having to buy and maintain the physical hardware that runs it. However, routine maintenance of the VM such as configuring, patching, and installing the software that runs on it is user’s responsibility. Azure virtual machines can be used in various ways. Some examples are:
App Service is a Platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering of Microsoft Azure. Create web and mobile apps for any platform or device. Integrate your apps with SaaS solutions, connect with on-premises applications, and automate your business processes. Azure fully manages the Virtual Machines (VMs) running your apps. You are free to choose between shared VM s or dedicated VMs with dedicated resources.
App Service includes the web and mobile capabilities that was previously delivered separately as Azure Websites and Azure Mobile Services. It also includes new capabilities for automating business processes and hosting cloud APIs. As a single integrated service, App Service lets you compose various components -- websites, mobile app back ends, RESTful APIs, and business processes -- into a single solution.
App Service incAzure App Service offers a number of categories of apps known as app types. The type you need depends on your unique workload.
App Service lets you develop apps in most popular development languages, including Java, PHP, Node.js, Python, and the Microsoft .NET languages. With App Service, you can
Save up to 40 percent with the Azure Hybrid Use Benefit on Windows Server virtual machines.
Use your on-premises Windows Server licenses with Software Assurance to save big on Azure. With this benefit, for each license we will cover the cost of the OS (on up to two virtual machines!), while you just pay for base compute costs.
